I’ve heard, in support of President Bush, two arguments more than any others. One involves the claim that our economy is better because of Bush than it would have been without him. To that, I say ‘Take a look at what you pay for gasoline.’ The second claim, and the one I’d like to address more fully, is that we are a safer country now than we were a few years back, having been led these years by our guns and glory President.

I’ve seen quite a few election maps in these days since this country, in a close race, voted to commit suicide, but one thing these maps have not effectively represented is the closeness of the race. Maps, unadjusted for population density and for the percentage of votes each candidate received, give a skewed portrait of our undeniable national psychosis.
