Our time has come!!! KILL ROEvWADE!!! KILL!!! KILL!!!!

South Dakota’s Rep. Roger Hunt apparently has an article in USAToday. Hunt is the primary sponsor of an anti-abortion bill in South Dakota. This article seems to be an attempt to argue his case. A few things I noticed:

DNA studies clearly establish that the unborn child is not a glob of tissue but is a human being, separate and distinct from its mother.

DNA studies? I’m sorry Mr. Hunt, but this is no big surprise. We’ve all known, all along, that embryonic tissue contains human DNA. Presenting this as if it were news, kinda makes you look like an idiot.

Glenn Greenwald on Conservative Values

Glenn Greenwald has posted a couple of very nice posts on the Conservative betrayal of Conservative values. His latest installment in on ‘personal responsibility’.

Sadly, self-proclaimed conservatives seem to have as little use these days for the virtue of “personal responsibility” as they do for their other discarded beliefs of the past — such as distrust of the federal government, or their steadfast and loudly touted belief in the rule of law.

Then what do we teach them?

Utah Rep. James Ferrin sponsored a bill that “would have required science teachers to single out the theory of evolution among all other scientific theories by stating that it is “not a fact” and that the state does not endorse the theory.” It was shot down, in a bizarre show of sanity in the legislature. In an interview, Ferrin gave the world a piece of his mind.

House sponsor Rep. James Ferrin said “Frankly I am not interested in teaching our kids what is in fact based solely on scientific inferences.”

We don’t torture. Oh, no, we don’t torture.

And we’ve got the FBI memos to prove it.

Military interrogators posing as FBI agents at the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, wrapped terrorism suspects in an Israeli flag and forced them to watch homosexual pornography under strobe lights during interrogation sessions that lasted as long as 18 hours, according to one of a batch of FBI memos released Thursday.
