Hi,

Thanks for the note Rob, and the kind words.

I had really hoped that Alex would return to respond, but, alas, it has been a long while now and nothing.

As for the dishonest presentation of himself, these religious-ie types seem to have a perplexing 'end justify the means' mentality.

Hi John,

I was just browsing some of my old bookmarks and came across this Alex Branning fellow. I remember marking him because he got a bit of attention a while back when he apparently was trying to exclude real science from public schools and replace it with ID garbage. So anyways, i found myself reading your response to his disingenuous response here. I say disingenuous because to you he pretended to not care what particular science was taught. That was a lie and you picked up on it very quickly. This is very sad, since I've looked into it a bit and this Alex guy is apparently VERY religious. He wants to follow the teachings of Jesus and blah blah, but I would ask him how he thinks Jesus would respond to him knowing he just came in here an lied to you and your readers. And of course he has slinked back under his rock, er, back into the arms of his fellow delusionists.

As you may have guessed, I'm not religious at all. In fact, I think today's Christian religion is a cancer. But I thought i'd send you a shout to say you do a real nice job of explaining the problems regarding this subject.

cheers,
rob

Alex went strangely quiet here too, which is sad. I'd also love to hear more from him.

I didn't know about 'EvolutionImpossible.com'. Thanks for pointing that out.

Some months ago I invited young Alex to discuss his concerns about the teaching of science in the Talk.Origins newsgroup (http://groups.google.com/group/talk.origins) and he actually
joined in. He lasted all of four replies before some of the T.O. howlers pointed out his previous web site was called "EvolutionIsImpossible.com". Alex went strangely quiet after than was mentioned and hasn't been seen back in T.O. since then. Funny about that - we'd love to hear more from him.

I, too, await a response.

If you actually pin people of this type to what they are saying, it's amazing how fast they lose interest in defending it.

Yeah, I need to send him an email inviting him back to chat.
