Is this what Bush means when he says “We don’t spy on Americans”?

In 2003 AT&T built “secret rooms” hidden deep in the bowels of its central offices in various cities, housing computer gear for a government spy operation which taps into the company’s popular WorldNet service and the entire internet. These installations enable the government to look at every individual message on the internet and analyze exactly what people are doing. Documents showing the hardwire installation in San Francisco suggest that there are similar locations being installed in numerous other cities.

AMERICAblog: Because a great nation deserves the truth

Wired Magazine has apparently bit the bullet and published some material highly damaging to the administration. I wonder how long it will be before the whole lot of ‘em come up on terrorism charges? Or treason? It is after all, un-American to report crime and one should support the President no matter what.

Lets see. What else?

Oh… the Senate backs militarizing the nation. It seems we’ll be using National Guard troops to protect the country from poor Mexicans. Who protects us from the already overstressed, overworked Guard units? Of course, its not like warfare sets one on edge.

Yet another “Turning Point”

President Bush said today the war in Iraq has reached a “turning point” with the formation of a unity government Saturday in Baghdad, but he suggested the conflict may be far from over.

Bush says Iraq war a ‘Turning Point’

He could have also mentioned that some key jobs are not yet filled. But yes, yes… this time we really are at a turning point. Fourth time’s the charm as they say. Three governments haven’t put Iraq back together, this time though… this time, Mission Accompli….
