Somalia is without a doubt a place that desperately needs help. Not surprisingly, they aren’t getting it from us. As Noonan notes, “Right now, we’ve got our hands full in Iraq and with Iran, etc”. Right. Right now we are bogged down in flashy but pointless conflicts– one of them tremendously costly and the other both of them foolish beyond belief. But that isn’t the subject of this essay. The subject is the bigotry. Mark “can’t seem to spell African countries” Noonan is lamenting the fact that we can’t go kill the damned Muslims.

Alongside the all-or-nothing approach of disabling output, Vista requires that any interface that provides high-quality output degrade the signal quality that passes through it if premium content is present. This is done through a “constrictor” that downgrades the signal to a much lower-quality one, then up- scales it again back to the original spec, but with a significant loss in quality.
…
In other words if you’ve sunk a pile of money into a high-end audio setup fed from an S/PDIF digital output, you won’t be able to use it with protected content.

I am in Boston for the week. There is a lot of history here. The city is the stomping ground of many of the men who created this nation. There are statues, stones, markers, and plaques littering the landscape to commemorate what occurred here around 1776. Lexington Green is a few miles away. The tea party… The admittedly over-rated Paul Revere… The Massacre… The Green Dragon… Franklin’s birthplace…

To be a non “white christian toadie” is to be slandered…
There’s nothing in the world worse that a big-eared crook in Washington, and that Barak Hussein Obama-sama sure has some big ears…From the first comment on Obama, the Intern, and the Crook
Bloody-Hell. Barak Hussein Obama-sama? Bloody childish.
Noonan’s post, by the way, is about Obama’s connections to corruption– that connection being an intern who for him for a few weeks and who is connected to a man who has been charged, but not yet convicted, of some nasty business practices. Yes, that’s right. Obama’s big corruption scandal boils down to a 20 year old intern and a few weeks. Wow! Devastating, Mark. Getting the smear machine ramped up for 2008 already?

Earlier I was watching my (more or less) adopted kid play with his Christmas present from me– Destroy All Humans, Part II. Watching an 11 year old play such games is frustrating for me. Kids his age seem to play games without any plan, without any concern for tactics, or for objectives. It is really just about running around wildly and shooting things. The fact that nothing gets accomplished reliably seems not to matter. The fact that running around randomly blasting things actually gets in the way of achieving a particular objective doesn’t do much to temper the mad blasting.
