Colorado Politics: Inaugural Carnival

posted in Colorado by themaiden |

Welcome to the July 16, 2007 edition of Colorado Politics.

Turnout for this carnival was not what I’d hoped, which is probably my fault for not yet having constructed an official carnival homepage. And because of this limited turnout– which was low but non-zero– I’ve decided to co-opt some exemplary posts from around the web.

The carnival is open to any Colorado Blogger writing politics, or to any other blogger writing about politics in Colorado or about its national Senators and Representatives.

Steven Silvers presents WakeUpWalMart defections might mean union-backed activist groups have done all they can do. posted at Scatterbox at stevensilvers.com, saying, “Departing leaders of a prominent political-style anti-Wal-Mart group perhaps think they’ll accomplish more through a well-coiffed multimillionaire populist presidential candidate.”

Out in Left Field talks about health care and Michael Moore, asking “If a criminal has a Constitutional right to a lawyer, why doesn’t a sick person have a right to a doctor?

From Tancredo Watch, “Other politicians have been able to stake out positions similar to Tancredo’s on illegal immigration without becoming the darlings of the neo-Nazi right. Some healthy introspection and perhaps a change in tone and comments might be in order for presidential candidate Tancredo. Will we see it?” Good question, I’d say.

Wash Park Prophet talks about mothers in Denver. “Denver is a highly segregated city. The divide between its mostly well off Anglo and Asian populations, and its relatively less well off Hispanic, black and Native American populations can be stark.

The joys of war, from Threshing Machine: “Why did he miss …twice? Could it have anything to do with the prospect of killing an already severely wounded and downed man, weighed against the cheers of his buddies?

And that concludes things this time around. Submit your blog article to the next edition of colorado politics
using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
