The Godless House of Horrors
posted in Carnivals, Religion by themaiden |Greta Christina has the latest Carnival of the Godless. She writes:
So you thought you’d take an innocent visit to the Carnival of the Godless? See the godless sights, ride the godless rides, make yourself pleasantly sick on godless cotton candy?
Your visit is about to take a ghastly turn. Hand in your tickets, step through these gates, and abandon all hope. You are about to enter…
hmmmm… godless cotton candy…
Browse the rest of Greta Christina’s blog while you are there. It is really very good. Hope you aren’t bashful though.
I try not to pick favorites from these carnivals and let the carnival itself advertise everyone equally, but I like this one a lot and it maps well to the themes of some of my posts.
Alister McGrath manages to go on and on and say almost nothing of substance. He refuses to commit himself to any type of position, and avoids being really debated by never staking out a claim on any ideology or truth. Watching this, I am certainly glad that I have never had to engage in a conversation of any type with Mr. McGrath, who seems to be a very kind and gentle fellow who unfortunately has few convictions, little respect for any definitive truth, and a chronic inability to express any real opinions of his own.
Watch Alister McGrath Take a Very Long Time To Say Very Little
McGrath is a theologian in case you are wondering and like all theologians he must wrestle with the problem of trying to talk sensibly about something of which no one has any any evidence whatsoever. I’d not like to be in that position, but he arguably brought it upon himself. Why one would do so I’m not sure.
