I propose that we have people take a sample out of every jar of peanut butter that they open and send it to a lab to be analysed for new life. That way the experiments these people are talking about could actualy be done and we could get to the bottom of this whole mess about evolution.

Thanks for posting those videos. The banana argument is by far one of my favorite creationist delusions. I hadn’t seen the peanut butter argument before though so I am adding that one to my collection. If I ever get around to posting them I’ll make sure and link back here.

I guess my common didn’t really make sense in context, I just also noticed several inconsistencies and figured that before making a video, it would be smart to make sure there were no self contradictions in your argument. If that makes sense. Regardless, I appreciate your post, and enjoy the site.

In the peanut butter video, they’re not even talking about evolution at all, they’re talking about abiogenesis. It doesn’t follow that if life can rarely develop from primordial soup + lightning, then we should sometimes see “new life” in peanut butter. And, you know what? Even if a peanut butter jar did spontaneously develop “new life” you wouldn’t be able to tell! You would have amoebas in your peanut butter. They’re opening these PB jars expecting to find bugs or something — it took millions of years to get from amoebas to bugs!

These guys just don’t understand a single one of any of the concepts they’re dealing with.
