And Perishable Press is responsible. Removing ‘nofollows’ from a Wordpress blog is remarkably easy to do and you needn’t install a plugin to do it, as explained in “The One-Minute Dofollow WordPress Upgrade” and in the Industrial Strength WordPress Dofollow Upgrade for those wanting that little extra. I recommend the latter. It took me less that five minutes, but I’m not a half bad WordPress hacker, though this blog is not indication of that. I haven’t done anything with it in a long time.
If ‘my word for it’ isn’t proof enough and you need to know why you ought to follow suit, take a look at Death to NoFollow.

[edit Nov. 8, 2007] OK. Looks like the servers have adjusted. Business as usual. [/edit]
Hell’s Handmaiden is switching servers. The site is going to LaughingSquid– more on them later– because the site owner is damned frustrated with his current host– more on them later as well.
While the DNS servers are adjusting, I won’t be putting up any new posts as I don’t want to worry about synchronizing two databases. Things should be settled by about mid-week.

Well, I had to remove SiteMeter from the site this morning. It seems that the company decided to start placing third party cookies from dg.specificlick.net onto my visitors browsers via their stat counter app. This is annoying. Couple that with this: I found out about dg.specificlick.net because I’ve had some load-time issues and one of the things that was hanging was dg.specificlick.net. That is how I came to investigate them. I noticed that a something on my site was making a call to a web address that I didn’t write into the code. Like I said… annoying.
The information I found:

The upgrade and alterations continue. I hope to finish them soon and get back to blogging.
The upgrade is not responsible for the slow load times. That problem began before I started the upgrade.
I discovered, much to my annoyance, that a Wordpress Theme called “3k2redux klee by Michael Heilemann & Chris J Davis” hides a god-damned site tracker in the code.
… back to work.

The Hell’s Handmaiden RSS feed is migrating to Feedburner within a week or so. I’ve comtemplated the decision for some time now, and hopefully the migration will be both painless and beneficial. At any rate…
… the new RSS address is http://feeds.feedburner.com/hells-handmaiden/QykU. Right now, both the Wordpress default RSS and the FeedBurner feeds works, but that will change eventually. Anyone tracking the site via RSS, and I know you are out there, should reset your reader to the FeedBurner address as soon as possible.
