Oh, wait. Now I don’t and its your fault Mr. Surgeon that I don’t have my pee-pee anymore.
Take a look at about minute 02:00 of ‘Sex Change Surgery Regret‘ and here an MTF then FTM transexual assert that the ultimate responsibility for his– um, now ‘his’… again– decision to have a sex change operation lies with the surgeon.
Like hell it does.
“Whose choice is it at the end of the day?” our anti-hero asks. “At the end of the day the choice is with the man who is holding the scalpel.”
There are a couple of things going on here that get under my skin.
First, what kind of ass wanders around with a camera trying to catch people having sex? Honestly, the terms ‘pervert’ and ‘peeping tom’ come mind.
Second, watch the film through to the end. Lewd behavior too close to a church is a felony? It is hard to argue that that is anything other than a religious law, other than legislated morality.
Now come on? High school students post filthier photos on their MySpace or Facebook pages. You can get more filth at the beach. Bikini == underwear, if you think about it. You’ve really got to be kind of a nut to think that you can blackmail with this kind of thing.
This is a preview of Blackmail is ‘iffie’ at best.
Cynical Chatter From The Underworld has posted a letter compiled by some academics and aimed at a bit of anti-pornography legislation. The interesting bit for me is the part that follows what I quote here. What follows is a list of reasons that this kind of legislation is problematic.
As academics and researchers working in the fields of film, media, cultural studies and social science we would like to make the following submission to the committee. In view of the shortness of time to put our concerns to the committee, this submission is brief and to the point, we trust that the issues raised will be given due consideration by the committee and that a further more detailed submission will be made possible.
